Greetings JAG Family!!! I am excited for the 2024-2025 SY as a proud member of the Jaguar Family. This year marks my 24th year in education and my 9th year as an Assistant Principal. I look forward to continuing to support the academic growth and excellence of our students. My desire to help teachers and students excel professionally and academically are two factors that continue to drive my educational career.

I have spent time working as a district Technology Director, for the Ga Dept of Education, and high school Business Education teacher.

I have completed my bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Appalachian State University and my masters, specialist, and doctorate degrees in Educational Leadership from Argosy University - Sarasota. I have worked with various levels of education on committees that handle training school personnel as well as developing documents with the U.S. Dept of Education, working with FERPA.

I believe this will be a great year, as we continue the amazing work that is being done at Spalding High School with the students, staff, and stakeholders.

I have had the privilege of teaching and serving students at the high school level for 23 years.   All but five of those years have been here at SHS!

I began my career in Clayton County as a math teacher before coming to SHS in 2001. As a teacher at SHS, I taught Math at every grade level as well as AP Statistics.   With the birth of my first child, I left SHS briefly, but returned in 2006 to continue teaching.  In 2008, I became the math instructional coach and have been serving in this capacity at SHS for the last ten years.  In December 2011 I received a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Assessment from Georgia Southern University and an Ed.S in Leadership from Columbus State.  In the Fall of 2021, I was hired as one of the Assistant Principals at SHS.  I am excited to work with everyone in this new role and I can't wait to see what the future holds for our students.

Greetings, Spalding High School Parents, Students, Community Partners, and Friends:

I am honored to join Spalding High School's leadership team as assistant principal. I have  been an enthusiastic educator for nineteen years and will bring that diverse experience to  this next chapter of my journey.

I began my career in education at A.Z. Kelsey Academy. For 14 years, I positively impacted  the educational trajectory of many students, which greatly contributed to my zeal for  education and passion for helping students.

Following my tenure at A.Z Kelsey Academy, I assumed the role of Virtual Learning  Specialist for the District. In this capacity, I facilitated communication among vendors,  parents, students, and the district to ensure a seamless and successful virtual learning  experience.

Throughout my career, I have maintained a sincere dedication to education and  empowering students to achieve their full potential. I have strived to cultivate a positive  and supportive learning environment for all students and am proud of my profound impact  on countless young individuals.

As I continue as assistant principal at Spalding High School, I am eager to embrace new  challenges and opportunities to enhance the educational experience for our students  further. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped my career and  am enthusiastic about continuing to influence students’ lives for years to come.

I am excited to serve SHS as an Assistant Principal this year.  I am originally from near Johnson City, Tennessee, where I graduated from Science Hill High School in 1992.  I attended Presbyterian College, and I graduated in 1996 with Bachelor’s Degrees in English and Business Administration.  I spent the next 7 years working at Presbyterian College as an admissions officer, working with high school students hoping to attend the college.  In 2003, I moved to Griffin and began my teaching career.

My first two years teaching were in 8th grade Language Arts at Taylor Street Middle School.  In 2005, I came to SHS as an English teacher, and I completed my Master’s degree in Education from Troy University.  As a teacher at SHS, I taught English at every grade level as well as AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition.  The last four years, I have been the Instructional Coach for English at SHS.  I finished my Educational Leadership program at Columbus State University and begun work as an Assistant Principal in the 2021.

I am excited to work with the staff, students, and parents of SHS, and I look forward to a great year!
